Sugar lump update

Hey, I see you're from Norway too, so here goes. If you don't actually speak Norwegian, sorry.

Takk for at du la til informasjonen om sukker oppgraderingene. Og takk for at du hjalp til å stoppe vandalene for noen dager siden! Velkommen til Wikien. :) DisgustingWastelander (talk) 17:15, March 2, 2018 (UTC)

Bare hyggelig! Og takk for velkomsten. :3 - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 17:46, March 2, 2018 (UTC)

Re:Failed Sprites

Deleted. Shame it didn't work, oh well. Also, I think you're more active here than I am, maybe you would consider asking Schiffy for a promotion to admin? That way you'd be able to ban vandals and whatnot. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 21:16, April 1, 2018 (UTC)

Utilities

I'm somewhat conflicted on what to do about these kinds of articles. Most of them seem to have been added by the author of the utility themselves, and most of them are outdated. I'd like a second opinion, is there any point in keeping them? DisgustingWastelander (talk) 11:33, April 14, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I've deleted most of them now. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 12:55, April 14, 2018 (UTC)

Beta

I concur. I think we should keep everything that is not yet in the game, and remove what has been added, as you said.

By the way, now that you're content moderator, if you ever feel like it please do delete some Unused and duplicated files. I see no point in keeping all that stuff. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 21:27, April 16, 2018 (UTC)

Re:Templates

As long as they're not being used, I see no problem with getting rid of them. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 11:54, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

I finally figured out the navbar and added it to our three navboxes. This means we'll have to leave transclude too. Thanks for clearing up wanted templates though, and editing user pages when removing red liks is perfectly fine. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 14:55, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

Garden table

Any ideas as to how we are going to do the plant table? I started doing something, but the table is still to long. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 20:24, April 18, 2018 (UTC)

Ah, thank you :) DisgustingWastelander (talk) 20:45, April 18, 2018 (UTC)

Discord

Do you have a discord account? It would be a lot easier to communicate if we could do it there. Alternatively, we could talk in the wiki chat. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 16:41, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

Discussions

I'm sure you've noticed already, but I've made you discussions moderator. DisgustingWastelander (talk) 14:36, May 15, 2018 (UTC)

Question I have of pure confusement...

Why is it that you deleted my Icon 1 through 15 Pictures for the Fractal Engine?

I know the deletion of those picture files was because of this reason: (Duplicated/superseded file), but what is that exactly supposed to mean here?

I kinda need your reasonings to why you removed them in the first place, cuz i'm really just interested of your reasons of the (Duplicated/superseded file) meaning. 00DogeCubeGamer00 (talk) 00:45, October 20, 2018 (UTC)

"Duplicated/superseded" (usually) means that a file is identical or near-identical to another file. In this case, the new files I uploaded to fix the two problems with each and every one of the files you uploaded, thus yours were superseded by mine.
The problems: Improper sprite size/resolution (as in, not 48x48) and bad file names. If you had used proper file names, I would simply have uploaded a "new version of this file" for each one. If you had used proper sprite sizes, I would simply have renamed the files. With both issues present, I simply uploaded the new versions to the proper names, and deleted the old ones.
I know bad file names are currently present for some existing files, but it's harder to deal with things that have been around for a long time than it is to fix something brand new. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 08:19, October 20, 2018 (UTC)

Hello

thank you for your correction on the Garden Page. I just wanted to publish this picture, but the help for formating was needed, so, thank you ! Yes, the tree is not complete, this is just the tree for the first discovery (then without loops), by keeping always : 1) the shortest path, 2) the highest probability. Not sure if it is always the best strategy, but, at least, it is the easiest to understand. The full graph would have been too complex to be usefull, but, some disclaimer can be added. (and if you want, it seems you are better writter than I am :D) Peuwi (talk) 10:10, October 24, 2018 (UTC)

PureCookie (Cheat Interface) deletion

Hello! I've found out that you deleted an article called PureCookie (Cheat Interface). However, looking at the deletion log reveals that the article had comments that were created back in 2013, which made me suspect that it was a legitimate article which was vandalized. Please double check your deletion, and please restore the article if a legitimate revision exists.

Thanks. -- ☁ I want more clouds! ⛅ 05:36, December 14, 2018 (UTC)

2.018 Upgrade IDs

I noticed while updating my spreadsheet that the IDs for many of the new cookie upgrades introduced are simple "5", and I wasn't sure if this is because the IDs are malformed in the code, or if you just forgot to finish filling them in while doing the updates. On the off chance that it was the latter, I figured I'd bring it to your attention.

Keep up the good work. <3 -RotaretilboCOM 16:52, March 7, 2019 (UTC)

Whoops, yeah, I just put them all to 5 while sorting out the other info, since they're all in the five-hundreds, but forgot to fill in the tens and ones. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 21:31, March 7, 2019 (UTC)

Toxicity

Hello there, one question, is it possible that toxic users can be blocked? There's someone in particular that've been nothing but toxic.

Hi. (talk) 05:43, August 1, 2019 (UTC)

I would, but I'm only a moderator, not an admin. I have higher access to editing and deletion, but I cannot do anything about users. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 19:02, August 1, 2019 (UTC)

About Heat Death

I understand it looks a bit dramatic but it is the true definition of it, it is the death of the universe after all and even after all stars burns out, energy can still flow with white dwarfs still shining and black hole actually emits it's energy in a very slow way. And time has no meaning is true because we can only see the effect of time moving forward is because of work done by any type of energy. It's just a more accurate description of heat death. Cheetah-shooter Ammo:Cheese Peas 08:48, October 15, 2019 (UTC)

The accuracy or the fact that it looks dramatic aren't the issue. Its just lengthy, considering it's supposed to be a piece of trivia. (Although, the "time has no meaning" part is largely irrelevant to the heat death of the universe.) - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 11:58, October 15, 2019 (UTC)
Well the fact is this description used now is not accurate at all, maybe just "Heat death is when energy don't flow from a point to another because everywhere in the universe has even amount of it. Nothing will happen in the universe again and it signifies the death of the universe."? Kitten upgrade mess in Angle-demon heavenly upgrade template

So, I remember last update trying really hard but couldn't figure out how to add the no milk factor part for kitten wages. Now that both kitten wages and cat ladies are purchased after kitten angle which means rowspan shenanigans, but I have tested that cat ladies and the milkhelp relief pills are both not considered kitten upgrades, can you solve that puzzle? Cheetah-shooter Ammo:Cheese Peas 15:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

I'm actually thinking I'll separate the three other upgrades from Kitten angels, since there are now multiple upgrades that don't fit properly into the "kitten" category. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 15:36, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
btw, I am thinking we should use the {{table}} or similar things to remove some redundancy of saying this table is x building's achievement/upgrade in its own page, can it be done? Cheetah-shooter Ammo:Cheese Peas 15:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
The headers are there for the sake of having collapsible tables without warping the dimensions of the cells. If there's no need for the headers to be there, you can just set them to "static", at the cost of eliminating the option to collapse the table. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 16:10, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Sorry for breaking some templates

When I am moving the first few new cheevos from cookie clicker beta page to the templates, I saw those table uses {{!}} in there so I copied and pasted it in the template. Then, using some fancy new function the edit has (ctrl + f creates a search for specific words like some browser), it can even replace the searched word with something new, with it I replaced the #ifeq part that has {{!}} as well that's exactly there to not break the thing with |. After a few back and forth I figured I can just do the ctrl+f thing in the beta page instead so there are only a few casualties, still I am sorry.

It may have shot me in the foot as well because I tried something with {{table}} and it didn't work the way I wanted it to.

Cheetah-shooter Ammo:Cheese Peas 09:06, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed it on the farm achievements. I've considered updating all the table templates that use |, just because {{!}} is more convenient. | is fine to use in articles, but not that great in templates, since they conflict with | being used to separate wikicode parameters. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 09:18, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

This page shouldn't be an actual page.

Someone has created this page: https://cookieclicker.fandom.com/wiki/Lore

The page really doesn't have any reason to exist, it's literally just theorizing. The person who created the page was not logged in, so there is no option but to delete the page. So could you please do that?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Deleetius Productions (talkcontribs) on ... (UTC)

FANDOM Users should be Banned, and only users that signed in can edit it Wiki.

FANDOM Users are notorious for doing lots and lots of vandalism. Pages like Como fingir la muerte were created by FANDOM users and are unofficial and you still haven't deleted it. And pages like those Flavored Cookie Pages and Offline Cookie Production (The page about angel and demon upgrades) that contain Official and Canon Information were deleted immediately. I'm probably going to bring back the pages that I made but with less wikicode soon (not the Flavored Cookie Pages since there are ton to create).

Thank you for understanding my concern. Xavier369 (talk) 23:50, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

I don't visit the wiki every day, so I don't always catch problems immediately. There's not really any way to get notified about new page creations, so they slip through more often than people vandalizing existing pages. Anonymous users aren't really a problem, and often, it's anonymous users who fix problems when they arise. I also explained exactly why I deleted the pages you made. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 02:00, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
No, anonymous editors are causing trouble everyday and it outweighs the benefit of people not using an account to actually edit in good faith. Just as an example, last two weeks there are 15 vandalism from anon edits and 5 useful ones(including reverting vandals), people out there just doesn't know when to quit and changing ip to keep vandalising is easy. There are still some who make accounts to keep doing it but it is at a much lesser rate because take takes a lot more work, they are also more easily identifiable because they are not just a bunch of ip number. The new Recent Changes made it obvious when page are created new files are uploaded and even show deletion and block log. It way easier to identify new vandalism as well because this wiki is already pretty complete, besides some references and calculation might need some updates. I really think its time to change the anons can't edit anymore so it will be less of a hassle to deal with them. Cheetah-shooter (talk) 15:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Recent changes have always been useful in that regard, I don't see your point there. What I said about new pages not pinging me with notifications still stands true, meaning I have to actually visit the wiki in order to discover page creations. Unless, of course, someone sends me a message to let me know. But, fine, I'll make the wiki account-only. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 15:39, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Root category

Hey Princess Nightmoon, I wanted to bring up a small change before I implement it. We've been updating wikis to have their root category named after the wiki name, so in this case "Category:Cookie Clicker Wiki" to hold all the other categories, instead of the generic "Category:Browse". This is beneficial for search engine optimization. Would I be good to go through with this change? SlyCooperFan1 (talk) 17:06, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Yeah sure. I actually thought this was implemented already. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 19:28, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
And done! Thanks :) SlyCooperFan1 (talk) 15:04, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Sticky table headers + New layout CSS migration

Could you copy over User:Californ1a/common.css into MediaWiki:Fandomdesktop.css? This will allow adding a "sticky-header" class on specific tables to make the header row of the table stick to the top of the page as you scroll down (similar to the table on this page). It would be very useful for large tables like on Version History or Buildings#Building Types.

Also, MediaWiki:Wikia.css needs to be migrated. It doesn't get loaded anymore with the new layout, as described on the migration guide. It looks like a previous admin was doing a font import there, to make section headers use Cookie Clicker's font, which won't work in MediaWiki:Fandomdesktop.css, so you'll need to migrate MediaWiki:Wikia.css to MediaWiki:Common.css if you want to get that font import working again as it did on the old layout, as described here. Also included in the migration guide, you'll need to change the "#WikiaPage" selector to ".resizable-container".

If you want to keep the version history from MediaWiki:Wikia.css when migrating it, you can use the merge history page to merge them before removing MediaWiki:Wikia.css.

With those changes, this are what the css files should look like:

/* Common.css */
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Merriweather:900');

.resizable-container h1,
.resizable-container h2 {
	font-family: 'Merriweather', serif;
	font-weight: bold;
}
/* Fandomdesktop.css */
#content {
	overflow-x: visible;
}
.page-footer {
	display: inline-block;
	width: 100%;
}
table.sticky-header > :not(tfoot) tr:first-child th,
table.sticky-header > :not(tfoot) tr:nth-child(2) th,
tr.sticky-header th {
	position: -webkit-sticky;
	position: sticky !important;
	height: 2.3em;
	box-sizing: border-box;
	top: 44px;
	border-bottom: 0;
}

Color template

Hi, I was wondering if we could add a simple template for coloring font and other elements? It may have limited use cases, but I've been trying to workshop a concept to update the Pantheon page even more, like by having rows of the table "highlight" based on current UTC time. Besides, once we have the tool, other editors may find ways to use it! Aepokk ulpex 18:34, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

Plagiarism, I guess?

the website -- this page in particular anyway -- https://re-actor.net/cookie-clicker-krumblor-strategy/ has copied the information from the wiki's respective page word for word.

I know about the CC-BY-SA license and all that, but this guy gives no credit to the original author(s) or website, and takes credit for the info for himself. ("Created by Plu -- https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198337843517")

yeah I'm snitching, I abhor people who take credit for others' work. dunno if there's anything you can do but I'm doing what I can.

also, I dunno what else they copied from the wiki.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DominusFam (talk • contribs) on 15:39, 29 September 2021‎

In their original posting on Steam, they mention at the very top that the guide "contains information combined from the wiki, reddit and some of my own experience". They also have guides for two of the minigames (Pantheon and Garden) featuring text, tables and images from the wiki, with the same disclaimer. The Steam user seems genuine enough, but that website is kind of iffy. I don't think there's much we can do about it, though. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 21:31, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Wiki Page Backgrounds

Since Fandom's redesign, which addded light and dark mode, the previous page background image has been removed and replaced with a solid color. I think it would be nice for the wiki to have background images again, potentially using the game's wallpapers. I believe these can be changed at https://cookieclicker.fandom.com/wiki/Special:ThemeDesigner. - Odin (talk) 14:54, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

My question

Sorry, I just realized I have a User page so I didn't see your messages until now. I'm not all that familiar with using Fandom, so I didn't know how to ask my question. I wanted to know what "Mature Age" means. (It doesn't matter if it's been in the article for four years. New people read articles all the time.) The term "Mature Age" is not self-explanatory. For instance, the Baker's Wheat info box in the game says its lifespan is 13 ticks and its maturation is 5 ticks. I don't see anything in it that says 35. 35 what? Where does 35 come from? Merriweather font

FYI, after noticing the main page was unsuccessfully trying to use it, I've added the Merriweather font to the wiki: MediaWiki:Common.css.

I added it to the headings on the main page, you should be able to use it elsewhere on the wiki now :)

Edit: While I'm here, I would also like to offer these logo proposals: File:Wiki-wordmark-new.png + File:Wiki-wordmark-new2.png

I took my old version, redid the text, and tried adding drop shadows to help readability against the cookie background:

Wiki's background

The wiki used to have the teal background similar to the game, but now it is just brown in the same shade of the navbar. Was it intentional, it has been like that for a while now and it doesn't look great.

Cheetah-shooter (talk) 01:23, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Yes, FANDOM changed some stipulations about color combinations back in November, making the very bright teal (which IMO was not really similar to the game at all anyway) no longer allowable alongside the white navigation text. Since the brown and white has been part of the main theme for so long, I just switched it over to that. I've now added image backgrounds to both the light and dark themes. The default blue background for light, and the stars background for dark mode. - Princess Nightmoon (talk) 03:18, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Fandom Stars

Hey, It's your Wiki Representative here! Have you heard of Fandom's Stars program? It's a program that highlights some of Fandom's top users, and I think with your work as an admin on this community that you'd be a great fit!

The program could get you early access to some platform updates, and in some cases attend events (e.g. Community Connect, some admins in the past got access to interview some cast and crew during SDCC, etc). Is this something you're interested in taking part in? If so, feel free to apply, and came name me as the one who recommended you for the program.
