data-values

Every entry in a table that uses a human readable format of a number to shorten it's representation, e.g

1.4 million

I plan on adding a data-value of the number outside the hover block (is that what they are called?).

data-sort-value="1400000"|1.4 million

Values without this hover snippet I won't touch since even numbers with comma's should be sortable (I think part of this depends on language configuration but it seems to work on this wiki). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Sorting#Examples_of_datatype_auto_detection

Additionally, entries that contain any sort of formula e.g

2.867 million × (1 + Po/20) × (1 + Fc/1,000) × (1 + AL/20) × (1 + AC/20) × (1 + G/400)

I just won't touch since I don't think there's a natural interpretation of how that should be sorted.

I am also considering doing this for some of the times given. For example, payoff time is in the format

2,564 seconds, 42.7 minutes

I can provide a data-value tag for the seconds amount, then payoff time can be sorted.

I'd love to go around to commonly used tables and provide this tagging. The only issues I see with this is that it's not possible (or I haven't found what thing to click yet) to do this in the visual editor, so future edits by other users to tables might break sorting again. Since sorting was broken in the first place, that's not much of a loss.

I am doing this out of a selfish reason that I like to sort tables, and I've been reading this wiki a lot preparing for a speedrun.
