Permanent upgrade slots, or permaslots, are a set of 5 heavenly upgrades where one can place normal upgrades into to make it immediately available and active for all subsequent ascensions. Permaslots go from I (1) to V (5), each requiring the previous to unlock, as well as costing 100, 20,000, 3 million, 400 million, and 5 billion heavenly chips, respectively. Every permaslot is functionally identical in every way except for its price.
Note that once an upgrade is permaslotted, it cannot be bought again in an ascension where it remains in a permaslot, and so permanent boosts cannot be obtained from permaslots as long as whatever is in them can still be obtained in an ascension. Note that not all normal upgrades can be permaslotted, and heavenly upgrades cannot be permaslotted.
NOTE: "Active" denotes a playstyle centered around making cookies with golden cookie effects (especially through click combos), while "Idle" is a playstyle around letting the game produce cookies WITHOUT golden cookies (in other words, afk; also includes non-golden cookie auto clickers).
The slot that an upgrade goes to does not matter. The icon given may not be the actual icon, but close to where someone at this level would be.

Notes
- ↑ Up to "Kitten consultants"; upgrades past that have diminishing returns. Replace with the upgrade A festive hat if the season switcher isn't going to be unlocked the next ascension and Christmas isn't on (this upgrade requires Christmas to unlock).
- ↑ The upgrade in the icon is the Golden Goose Egg. If not unlocked, use Fortune #001 or the most expensive flavored cookie.
- ↑ The upgrades are ordered by most to least effective and Fortune #103 is the icon.
- ↑ If unavailable, substitute the most expensive Javascript console upgrade
- ↑ Due to midcombo upgrade buying (buying all upgrades right before selling for godzamok in combos) this may not be optimal.
- ↑ May be replaced by Lucky day or Serenity if this upgrade becomes easily affordable.
- ↑ Fortune 104 has nearly the same effectiveness.
- ↑ If you almost never click fortunes, use Fortune 101.
- ↑ Kittens start losing effectiveness after the Hazerald one, so choose one that won't be bought while ascending.
- ↑ What you choose for III, IV, and V really depends on the strategy (primarily buying cursors or yous) you are using for ascends.
If buying cursors: Get every cursor upgrade that you can’t easily afford in around 6 seconds into ascending
If buying yous: Get every kitten upgrade that you can’t easily afford in around 6 seconds into ascending
- ↑ May switch out highest Javascript Console upgrade for A crumbly egg if "Simulation failsafes" (glimmeringue Javascript console upgrade) can be reasonably bought in around 2 minutes in.
